Have chores to complete today? No worries - if they keep your body moving and even help you work up a little sweat, you can log it as Trek activity! Health is about more than just exercise. It's about finding those little and consistent ways to stay active. Plus, taking care of those tasks around the house or yard can boost your environmental wellbeing, which is tied closely to your mental health. There's still time to finish the Tower!

Encouragement! One of the great ways to boost your own mental and spiritual health! Closely tied to the practice of gratitude, encouragement is a free and easy way to benefit both our own wellbeing while also lifting up others. And you can easily do it on our platform! While viewing the Individual or Team leaderboard, you can click on a participant to see that participant's Trek summary - and right at the top there's a button to 'Like' their profile and one to leave a comment! This is a great way to encourage teammates, or even strangers, like you do at an in-person Trek. Get out there and boost some spirits!

What's better than trekking alone? Trekking together! Did you know there are some great locations for hiking in the Greater Omaha area? Hiking is like stair climbing's sibling, and is a great way to get some cardio while also taking in some awe-inspiring nature. The experience of awe is a key way to boost mental and spiritual health, and studies show the easiest way to experience awe is to get outdoors and take notice of nature. Do your body, mind, and spirit some good and go on a hike!

Keeping up with kids can be hard work! Active family play time is a great way to stay moving, and we think you should be able to enter it as Trek activity. Family registrants can enter activity for all registered kiddos in their push up the virtual Tower together!

A little change is good for our minds and bodies. Feel in a rut? Try taking your walk or run outside instead of on the treadmill. Or introduce stairs, weight training, yoga, and more into your workout rotation. Just a little bit each day can make a difference!

Sometimes all you have is 15 minutes to squeeze in some intentional activity - and that's okay! Consistency is key in building and keeping those healthy habits. Set small, achievable goals to help you stay consistent and do something every day.

It's that time of year where green thumbs everywhere are out in the yard taking joy in the simple pleasures of nature. We know gardening can be hard work, so be sure you track your time and log it into the platform. There's no "gardening" category, but you can log it under any activity you think is the most representative of your hard work - and for any non-stair activity, 10 minutes equals one flight/floor!

A sense of community and being around others is good for our social wellbeing, and usually our mental wellbeing as well! Find ways that you can be safely active outdoors with other people, whether family members, teammates, or friends. There's no need to go it alone!

Log Trek distance through your every-day responsibilities that already keep you active, like walking the dog! Track your time to keep your platform entries accurate, or connect a device like fitbit or Garmin to do the logging work for you.

It doesn't have to big, and you have lots of types of activity to choose! Whatever your activity, remember 1) to track your time, since you are required to enter activity duration into the platform, and 2) stairs will help you finish the challenge faster, but any non-stair physical activity and even mental health practices can also be logged on the platform!
